Fresh from their filming in the Maldives, the production team have made a quick hop over to Sri Lanka to shoot Helga’s Folly. The proprietor of this eccentric art hotel was the inspiration for Stereophonics‘ UK hit ‘Madame Helga’, and by the look of her fabulous attire, we can certainly see why! Definitely a front-runner in the Weird & Wonderful style stakes.

With room names such as Knickers, The Pin Up Parlour and the Nookii Room, you might be able to guess why the Hotel Pelirocco has been described as “Brighton’s sauciest stopover”.

The “dirty weekend” isn’t the only thing on the Pelirocco’s mind though. Its 19 themed rooms are centred around everything from art movements and music genres. With its very own bar and a games console in every room it is as far away from a seaside B&B than you can imagine.

Situated in Spain’s world-famous Rioja wine region, renowned architect, Frank O. Gehry, has created a truly magnificent hotel that’s a must for any wine-lover. With its converted wine cellar banquet area, unique “wine therapy” massages and of course, a superior selection of wines at the hotel’s bar and restaurant, it’s no surprise that the hotel’s surroundings are known as the “City of Wine”.

Each designer has styled one floor of the hotel, and the variety of their work gives the illusion of 12 different hotels under one roof.

Another day, another Weird & Wonderful Hotel to shoot! The team have arrived at Marqués de Riscal, a luxurious hotel designed by renowned architect Frank O. Gehry. Located in the heart of Spain’s Rioja region, the hotel has become a mecca for wine connoisseurs. We’re hoping the team remember to bring us back a bottle or two!

After a well-deserved rest, the production team are now back on the road and have arrived at Hotel Puerta América in Madrid. Unfortunately they’ll be no time for an afternoon siesta, as the hotel features 13 floors each designed by a different arhitect. With so much ground to cover they’ll need to work extrarrápido!

The Daddy Long Legs Hotels offer a double dose of  the weird and wonderful in Cape Town.

Rooms at the Art Hotel have each been designed by a different artist utilizing a variety of imaginative themes.
