Building this bed and breakfast must have been a blast… literally. That’s because, back in 1980, Kokopelli’s Cave in New Mexico was blasted out of sandstone.

In 1996, the cave was ready for its first paying guest. Since then, there has been a steady stream of visitors, originally seeking unusual accommodation, who have been surprised at just how comfortable rooms carved out of stone can be! With its modern kitchen equipment, hot and cold water, and luxuries such as its cascading waterfall-style shower and flagstone hot tub, you’ll wonder why all B&Bs aren’t underground.
